STALKED | My First Solo Short Film

Stalked is my first proper short film that I made a the way through and the whole experience was great, I had a fabulous team behind me and I really enjoyed being able to create a short film in a genre that I enjoy.

I made this short film during my HNC year of Film and Television, it's my first short film that I wrote and produced on my own. I came up with the idea for Stalked in my NQ year of film and Photography and continued to develop it until I was satisfied with my outline. I put a lot of work into researching and watched a lot of different movies and shows about people kidnapping and stalking such as Swim Fan, Obsessed, Single white female and more.

Stalked is a short story about a woman who works in a radio station who takes on an assistant to help her run her radio show. We watch as Sarah navigates work, her new assistant and her ex boyfriend who is constantly trying to get Sarah back.

Throughout Sarah receives strange messages, emails and calls which leave her feeling uneasy but she trys to push them to the back of her mind until it all gets a bit much for her and decides to go to the police, but before she can get there, she's jumped by a strange person who takes her hostage.

Sarah's new assistant, Rebecca, comes to be a close friend and someone for her to talk to during the events leading up to her kidnapping. She believes her ex, Freddie is the one behind all the strange messages and calls as he is often seen to be showing up out of nowhere and coming to her work to talk to her, but all is not as it seems.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how my short film turned out, I learned a lot in terms of what not to do and what to do when it comes to a production. Although I was extremely organised and had back up plans, some things didn't go as well as I had hoped and I'll remember for next time to have a third back up plan just incase. I also learned another about editing and music choice which I'll take with me into my next production. I tried my hardest and near the end of editing and trying to get it to be the best it could I Unfortunately went through a traumatic experience which meant I was distracted and couldn't put as much work into the editing as I had hoped.

Maybe I'll have a go at editing it all over again at some point but overall, I'm pleased with how it turned out. You can watch the finished product below.
