Photography: Hayleigh Meg Photoshoot

Back in March of 2019 I had the pleasure of photographing Hayleigh Meg, this was part of my preparation for props when it came to making my first short film, STALKED.

The photoshoot was in Glasgow city center which made for a great backdrop in the photos. My plan for this photoshoot was to create images that could be used in my short film as props, my thinking was "surveillance photos" and Hayleigh was happy to oblige.

I was a little nervous going into this because I haven't had a whole lot of practice photographing people, well, I hadn't at that point so I really wanted to do my best. Armed with 3 lenses, a 28mm, 50mm and 85mm and my trusty Canon 70D, I knew what kinds of photos I wanted to achieve, I made sure to always refer back to the word 'surveillance' so that I could keep in line with my outlined plan.

Within my short film Hayleigh played the lead role of Sarah who is being Stalked, for the end scene Hayleigh was tied up in a room which had lots of photos across the walls, the stalker was seriously obsessed and I wanted to convey that with my props and I thought that these style of photos would work well with what I was trying to achieve.

I'm so happy with how the photos turned out and for not photographing someone outside for a full on photoshoot, I think I done ok. My favourite photos from the day though have to be the ones from the "tunnel", Hayleigh spotted a little tunnel with a sort of alleyway vibe that worked perfectly for some photos, the lighting was great and the plain background helped to keep the focus on the subject.
