Hello and welcome to my Creative Content blog.

My name is Jordanne and I'm a full time blogger over at Thelifeofaglasgowgirl.co.uk where I tackle topics like lifestyle, mental health, disability, beauty, fashion and more. Blogging has been a huge passion of mine for over 4 years now, it's my escape where I can express myself creatively.

Another huge passion of mine is Photography, film and television. I've been studying these for the past three years. I'm currently doing my HND in Film and Television, something I never saw myself achieving, I suffer with imposter syndrome at times so I guess I never really saw myself achieving my goals but here I am! It took me a while to hone in on my passion as I was bouncing around careers and college courses, then came my son and he flipped my world around. If it wasnt for him, I don't know where I would be, he gave me a reason to strive for a better life and he has been the force motivating me through everything that i do.

Throughout my time at college I have learned so many new skills that will benefit me for the rest of my life. When I started my first year I wasn't as confident in myself as I am now, it took me a while to realise that I am actually smart and I can do anything I put my mind to. Once I got more familiar with kit, software and more, I began to see where my passion lay. I'm naturally an organised person, I like to stay on top of everything to minimise work load, I preform best when I'm kept busy. My favourite part of the NC was the people I got to work with, I met some amazing people and we all had a good laugh. One of those people are now my best friend, Linda. I honestly have no idea where I would be without her, shes kept me sane through this entire journey, without her I don't know if I could have continued or not. I also loved the photography aspect of it. I used to study photography through sway academy and I was interest in persuing it further and I'm glad I did. My photography skills have vastly improved.

The NC opened my eyes to the world of film and television, I studied it back in 2011 but a lot happened which saw me drift away but coming back to it was the best decision I ever made. This made me want to peruse the filming side more, I was interested in creating video content to expand my skills so I could become a freelancer. I'm glad I stuck with it because I've had some amazing achievements that I'm proud of.

As my skills and confidence grew, I began to become more sure of myself and ideas. Within my second year I poured my blood sweat and tears into my work. I planned everything meticulously, kept folders with my work as I wanted hard copies to document, kept my file system easy and clean plus made sure I gave my best. Overall I'm so proud of everything I achieved during the HNC, I loved documenting everything in the journal we had to keep because writing is a passion of mine and I like to show my workings, no matter what it is, I like to document my process and progress. I'm planning on showing some entries from it here on the blog to show how I structed my work. I'm really proud of the compliments I recieved over my journal, being told that my level of work was exemplary confirmed that my hard work was worth it.

Because of the effort I put in I walked away with an award which was given to me for my Graded unit. I won best Graded unit of HNC and I couldn't be prouder of myself. It was within this year I realised I would love to work in production or as a director, both roles interest me and I'll be documenting my research into these role.

This year in our HND we have a few projects already lined up. We have to create a documentary which I'm both looking forward to but extremely nervous, I just can't make my mind up. We are also taking on a project in collaboration with the HND hairdressing and beauty class as they have to create a promo video for the salons as part of their course. Linda and myself have been given the roles of class liaisons, so we are heading up the meeting with their class liaisons. We've had a meeting amongst our class already and put together a sort of outline of our skills and what we can do so we can plan everything out with them. During our meeting we assigned roles, I'm leading Team A (Team Alpha) and another girl in the class, Claire is leading Team B (Team Bravo) we are the directors of the filming and will be delegating roles. We also have a huge essay due before Christmas which is slightly terrifying, then next year we will be focusing on our show reels, I'm taking on the role of a director for mine which I'm excited about plus we have some projects like creative week, film festivals, 48 hour film challenge, music videos and more... so we have a lot to get through.

I'm genuinely excited for this year of college, getting to create is a therapy for me so being able to do this at college is life changing. I would reccomend anyone who has a passion for the creative arts, media, radio, television, photography etc... go and study! The time is now, it's worth every minute of it and it's genuinely enjoyable. It also helps that we have a pretty good class, we work well together and get along which is a blessing, nothing worse than when a class is divided. I'm looking forward to what's coming, it's going to be one hell of a journey.

I should probably discuss what you can expect to see here on my creative content blog, so here goes. I'll be posting film reviews from time to time, talking about the type of kit I use and favourite pieces of equipment. I'll be showcasing my photography and features, talking about what happens on sets, maybe discussing some things I've learned, I'll be keeping a journal which will document my journey on college and various projects. I'll be posting some of my previous work, talking about my favourite parts of college, favourite classes and how college has helped me discover who I am. Basically this is going to be my all in one diary in a way which will also double as my show reel.

I hope you enjoy your time here, I'm a little nervous because I'm essentially starting over with my blog in a way. Although I wont be giving up my Thelifeofaglasgowgirl.co.uk blog, I'm starting a new one with a different concept altogether, it's nerve wracking on so many leaves so if you read this and enjoy it, leave a comment, let me know!
